National HBCU Blockchain and FinTech Innovation
Since 2020, the National FinTech Center awarded dozens of Innovation Grants to HBCUs and continued a collaboration with the University of the Virgin Islands and Simba Chain to create a Farm to Table Application of Blockchain Technology. These projects and the HBCU Students Inform the Block Video Competition all reported on the results of their work at The National FinTech Center’s annual conferences. Each of these projects had an impact on the students and faculty creating a ripple effect of influencing many students to learn more and pursue career and entrepreneurship opportunities in the field. Faculty members developed projects, including but not limited to, blockchain clubs, think tanks, a campus token, a pitch competition, a game development hackathon, and training sessions for students in blockchain development.
