Scholarships

To broaden participation across universities, the conference plans to offer up to one Faculty/Administrator Scholarship and one Student Ambassador Scholarship per eligible university, subject to eligibility verification, available funding, and completion of all requirements.

The website registration system will indicate whether a scholarship consideration opportunity is currently available for the selected university. Once an email has been received for that university and category, subsequent applicants may join the waitlist.

A scholarship request email is not an automatic award and does not constitute conference registration. Approved recipients will receive a unique promo code to complete complimentary registration through Eventbrite.

Additional faculty members and students from the same university are welcome and may register at the discounted General Registration rate of $1,550. The discounted rate includes conference registration, two nights of conference hotel accommodations, and conference meals.

The National FinTech Center is making a substantial investment to support faculty and students from HBCUs across the country. Participants are expected to assume a small portion of their attendance costs and should seek support as soon as possible from their Department Chairs, Deans, or other campus offices for expenses not covered by their scholarship.

Please note that the National FinTech Center does not reimburse expenses not specifically covered by the conference scholarship, including ground transportation, parking, baggage fees, hotel incidentals, additional hotel nights, and meals outside official conference meals. Airfare may also be excluded depending on the scholarship category.

Additionally, acceptance of the scholarship or conference award constitutes agreement to participate in person in the 7th National HBCU Blockchain, FinTech & AI Conference. If the scholarship/award recipient is unable to attend after accepting a scholarship or conference award that includes airfare and/or hotel accommodations, and all other incurred expenses, they agree to reimburse the National FinTech Center for the airfare, hotel, and other expense costs incurred on their behalf.
